MOST OF US ARE AWARE THAT THE DEEP PARTS OF THE OCEAN ARE EXTREMELY DARK. AFTER A CERTAIN DEPTH, NO LIGHT PENETRATES AT ALL.
This information which we take for granted, was only discovered recently by scientists using special equipment. Man cannot physically determine this because:
- The darkness in seas and oceans is found around a depth of 200 meters and below. Human beings cannot survive unaided at these depths. We are unable to dive more than forty meters without submarines or special equipment.
- Absolutly no light is found at 1000 metres. It is impossible for man to dive to this depth.
The Holy Qur’aan, 14 centuries ago, told us about the darkness in the sea:
"Or (the unbelievers’ state) is like the darkness in a deep sea. It is covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds. Darknesses, one above another. If a man strtetches out his hand, he cannot see it…" [Holy Qur’aan, 24:40]
