Benefits of Qur’aan

Vander Hoven, a Dutch psychologist, discovered the beneficial effects of reading the Qur'aan and repeating the word Allah on ill and healthy persons in a 3 year study.
Some patients were non-Muslims, others didn't speak Arabic and were trained to pronounce the word "Allah"; the result was great, specially on those suffering from depression and stress.
He said that Muslims who read the Qur'aan regularly have a great chance of protecting themselves from psychological diseases. He explained how each letter in the word "Allah" heals psychological diseases: The first letter Alif released from the respiratory system, controls breathing. Pronouncing Laam in the Arabic way, produces a short pause and repeating this constantly relaxes respiration. Saying the last letter Haa makes contact between the lungs and the heart and this controls the heartbeat.

SOME OTHER BENEFITS:
1) The Qur’aan will be a proof for us on the Day of Judgment:
"And the Qur’an is a proof for you or against you." (Hadith)

2) Your status in this life will be raised. In Saheeh Muslim, there is a story that shows how a man of Paradise, ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, understood this principle. Some men questioned him during his reign about making Ibn Abzaa, a freed slave, the leader of Makkah. He answered, "Verily he is a reader of the Book of Allah (the Qur’aan) and is knowledgeable about the obligations of the Muslims. Haven’t you heard the statement of your Messenger sallallahu alaihi wa sallam:
"Verily Allah raises some people by this Book and lowers others by it."
