Allah Ta’ala has given us a simple formula to gain His Love which all Muslims desire.
Allah mentions that He will definitely Love two people who love one another for His sake, who sit with one another for His sake, who visit and spend on one another for His sake. (Miskaat Pg 426)
BROTHERHOOD
From the aforementioned Hadith we understand that loving another Muslim, whether family or friends or even strangers, purely for the Pleasure of Allah, guarantees Allah will Love that person.
Muslims have over a billion potential avenues for earning Allah’s Love by simply meeting the next Muslim with honour and respect.
SWEETNESS
In another Hadith we are told that if a Muslim loves another Muslim solely for the sake of Allah, then that person shall taste the sweetness of Imaan (faith). (Mishkaat, Pg 12)
Among the signs that a person has achieved the sweetness of Imaan are: 1. Enjoying the worship of Allah, 2. Preferring obedience of Allah over sin, 3. To be content with every situation, good or bad, that Allah has decreed. (Mirqaat, Pg 74) Imagine! All this for merely loving the next Muslim!
Further it is mentioned that once Allah grants a person the sweetness of Imaan, it will never leave and this indicates that a person shall die on Islam. (Ibid)
ANGELIC GUARD
The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: If a man leaves his house to meet his (Muslim) brother, then 70,000 Angels accompany him… (Mishkaat, Pg 427) These Angels also pray for him.
In a Hadith in Bukhari we are told that 7 groups of people shall have the honour of sitting in the Shade of Allah’s Throne on the Day of Judgement when there shall be no other shade. One of these groups shall comprise those people who met one another for the sake of Allah Ta’ala.
