Mullah Nasruddin was trying to sell his house, but without success. One day he took out a brick from the house wall. "Why did you do that?" asked his wife. "Oh, foolish woman, what do you know?" said Nasruddin. "To sell anything, you have to show a sample. I will show this brick as a sample of our house!"
A rich man showed Nasruddin the coffin he had got made for himself. He wanted him to admire the quality of the wood. "Don’t you think the carvings are superb?" he asked Mullah. Mullah nodded. "I insisted the inside be lined with the best felt!" the man boasted. "I wanted it to be perfect. Do you think anything is missing?" "Yes," replied Nasruddin, "the occupant."
