The Black Stone

Al Hajr Al Aswad
More facts on this stone

· Muhammad bin Nafi narrates that when the Shias took out the Hajr Aswad (the Black Stone) from the Ka’bah in 929 CE, he saw its length was one hand span and the portion which is in the inner wall was white in colour. The outer portion had become black due to the sins of man.

· With time, the Black Stone broke into three pieces and later into seven pieces of various sizes. The pieces were held together with wax and put within a silver frame 30 centimetres in diameter.

· At present it consists of eight pieces of different sizes, with the largest being the size of a date seed.

· The pieces are embedded within a larger stone, around which is a cemented silver lining.

One of the signs of the end of the world is that Abyssinians would attack Makkah and the Ka’bah. The army will stretch from the Black Stone to the Red Sea. They will break the Ka’bah stone by stone from its foundation and the Ka’bah will never be rebuilt.
