Blood and Pork

APART FROM THE QUR’AANIC PROHIBITION OF BLOOD AND PORK, THERE ARE OTHER INTERESTING FACTS:

POISON BLOOD
An analysis of blood shows a lot of uric acid, a substance which can be injurious to health. In humans 98% of uric acid is extracted by the kidneys and removed through excretion.

EXCELLENT CUT
The Islamic way of slaughtering animals means cutting the jugular veins, wind and food pipes leaving other veins and organs intact. This causes death by total loss of blood rather than injury to any vital organ. If the heart or brain was damaged, blood would congeal in the veins and permeate the flesh. The flesh would be contaminated with uric acid and poisonous.

PORK
A pig cannot be slaughtered at the neck due to its anatomy. Thus, the exit of harmful blood cannot be totally accomplished. Further, the pig’s biochemistry excretes only 2% uric acid. The rest remains an integral part of its body. The pig is also host to diseases.
