Allah states in a hadith qudsi: ‘Out of all the ways through which My servant gets closer to Me, Salah is the dearest to Me.’ (Bukhari)
If after regular salah your heart is unmoved and morals corrupt, improve your Salah.
How can I improve the quality of Salah?
Plan daily activities around the 5 daily Salah. Do not plan everything and then try to fit Prayer in. Allah deserves a greater place in our lives than that!
Be punctual and don’t delay. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said, ‘The deed most loved by Allah is Prayer performed on time.’ (Muslim)
Pray obligatory Salah in congregation. This is an obligation on every male. According to the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), if we knew the good in praying in congregation we would not miss it even if we had to crawl to the Masjid!
Salah offers an opportunity of release from the tensions of this world. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said that in Prayer was placed the comfort of his eyes.
Plan the verses you are going to recite and learn their meanings.
Use sajda in Nafl Salah to make dua to Allah. The Hadith says: ‘A servant is nearest to his Lord when he is in sajda, so increase your supplication when in sajda.’ (Muslim)
Pray as if it is your last Prayer. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: `When you stand up to pray, perform your prayer as if it were your last...' (Ahmad)
Performing salah well should lead to a change in your life. The Quran states: Surely, Salah prevents indecency and evil [29:45]
