PERFUME OF THE PROPHET

Applying perfume is from among the traits (sunnah) of the Prophets alaihimus salaam.
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam never refused itar (perfume).
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam was very fond of perfume.
Umme Sulaym radhiallahu anha once collected the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam’s perspiration as it was sweeter than perfume. Anas radhiallahu anhu asked the people to apply this to his body when he was buried.
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam used to apply the most expensive of perfumes. Sadly, not many nowadays spend money on acquiring genuine perfumes as opposed to synthetic scents.
His wife Aeysha radhiallahu anha used to apply perfume for him. It is sunnah for a wife to apply perfume for her husband.
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam used Zareera (a mixture of perfumes from India).
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam loved Qumaara Oodh grown in India, and musk. He used ambar as well.
All perfumes are from Paradise.
