Allah chose the story of Yusuf (alaihis salaam) for the title of Most Beautiful of Stories. In it are many messages for those who search for the truth. (Qur’aan 12:7) Here are some of those messages:
CAREER CHOICE
The king offered Yusuf alaihis salaam a post in his kingdom when he saw his true worth. Yusuf alaihis salaam said: Make me in charge of the store houses of the land, I shall be a knowledgable keeper.
Yusuf alaihis salaam chose a position within a non Muslim government. We need to groom individuals to participate in especially local politics.
The portfolio he chose had a direct bearing on the everyday lives of people. Careers that youth choose must contribute to the upliftment of the populace. Learn to serve and not only to earn.
He used his knowledge to serve humanity.
His credential was knowledge that would allow him to do justice to his post. Youth need to couple secular knowledge with an understanding of Islam to give their careers a sense of direction and purpose.He displayed patriotism by dedicating his time and energy to uplift the lives of the citizens despite not being one of them. Promote youth participation in community development projects. The most beloved people in the sight of Allah are those who help His creation.
