HISTORY
We started publishing the Islamic Focus five years ago, in July 2003. We are currently on Issue 55. It started as an alternative Islamic newsletter in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Bukhara Publications are responsible for the Publication.

The Editorial team subscribe to the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah encompassing the four schools of thought (Mathaahib).
CONTENT
Articles are chosen for current relevance, interest and steer, as far as possible, away from controversy. Articles are condensed, designed to stir up interest and encourage the reader to do more research. Past articles have covered:
- Muslim contribution to science, medicine, food, etc.
- Articles encouraging good treatment of women,
- A dedicated Shafi Question and Answer page,
- A dedicated Hanafi Question and Answer page,
- Regular news snippets from the Muslim world,
- Biographies of personalities such as Sheikh Shaamil of Chechnya, Ibn Battuta, Admiral Zeng He, Mansa Musa of Mali, Sultan Dan Fodio, etc.
- Regular Web Guide: featuring sites of interest to Muslims,
- Moral and humorous stories,
- Moments of importance in Muslim History like the Battle of Hittin, the Tartar defeat, the Conquest of Jerusalem, etc.

OBJECTIVE
With this blog, we hope to share a few of our articles with you.
AUDIENCE
The Islamic Focus is distributed free in Musjids and Muslim shops in Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage. We rely on advertisers for running costs. The quality is limited due to the printing equipment we have at hand and quatities are also limited.
